ROCHESTER BOARD OF EDUCATION
Knowing that everything going on in any school building and in any district is directed by their Administration and the School Board first and foremost, this is where our input is needed most to inform them of both our concerns as well as our gratitude.
The School Board (Trustee) is an unpaid position, which requires true dedication to the highest ideals of what public education ought to be for the local public it serves. At the local level, this non-partisan position of public office is one of great importance as they are in charge of establishing policies and procedures, forming strategic plans for the future, approving curriculum standards, approving the budget expenditures of the district, and hiring and overseeing the Superintendent.
The Trustees are elected by the local citizens to represent them at the Board table, and to support or vote down motions brought before the Board according to what the public's concerns are. It is incumbent upon citizens to participate in this process to make the system work optimally. Please consider writing to the Board, or attending a meeting in person, as it will benefit everyone to have more of The Public share their perspectives.

It is important to share with the Board - in its entirety, or individually - what your concerns or perspectives are on the current goings-on of the district. The Board is a voice of The People, and needs to heed the will thereof. Please reach out to them and let them know your views on all things school related affecting your family, or your neighbor’s family. This goes for positive as well as negative feedback - these volunteers rely on our voices to let them know the pulse of the community and to let them know how they are representing you and your family.
